INTRODUCTION
After two years delayed due to pandemic, Indonesian Farmers Week (PENAS XVI) is warmly welcomed by all Indonesian farmer.
It is the biggest, the largest crowd, and most significant event for the farmer across archipelago. The event will be scheduled on 10-15 June 2023 at Padang, West Sumatra.
The PENAS XVI is a forum belong to key farmers, farmers and fishermen, researcher, observers, extension workers, private sector, government and non government institution to learn, exchange information, and experience.
To encourage spirit, responsibility and self-reliance of farmers, and fishermen and also as a forum to show up agriculture achievement within 4-5 years.
In 2023, as Government of Indonesia has lifted Covid-19 pandemic restriction for people activities, The PENAS XVI is expecting 40,000 attendees, representing a 5,000- person increase compared to the previous event held in Aceh in 2017.
As one of important program inside Indonesian Farmers Week. ASEAN-Dialog Partner’s Exchange Farmers Visit in 2023 play a key role as sharing expertise and information for opening mind of agribusiness actors and gate for mutual cooperation in the future.
Program invites ASEAN and ASEAN Partners Farmer representatives to speak up and distributing energy between farmers.
Aligning with the theme of ASEAN Chairmanship by Indonesia in 2023, which is “ASEAN Matters: Epicentrum of Growth,” the event adopts the tagline “Nurturing Partnership, Growing Together.” Indonesia, alongside other ASEAN member states, aims to ensure the continued relevance and increasing influence of ASEAN in the global context.
By strengthening partnerships and promoting cooperation within the regior, ASEAN strives to enhance its position as a dynamic and prosperous region with resilient and empowered communities. This collective effort aims to take part in driving sustainable agricultural development and reinforce ASEAN’s growth as a center of excellence.

OBJECTIVE
a. To promote spirit of cooperation among ASEAN Farmers and ASEAN and
ASEAN Partner’s Exchange Farmers Visit;
b. To create a platform of dialogue platform that encompasses experiences
and expertise in agricultural policies, best practices, and prospective
breakthroughs, with the aim of fostering agricultural advancement and
development among fellow ASEAN member states;
c. To share experiences and exchange of agricultural information and
technology, as well as promoting of agriculture product between farmers of ASEAN Member States and ASEAN-Dialog Partner’s from United States and Japan.
PURPOSE
To provide ASEAN Farmers and ASEAN Partner’s Exchange Farmers Visit from American and Japan with an opportunity to share thell agricultural experiences through the meeting and exchange vist. The program will contribute toward the figures of farmer’s activities in Indonesia as well as in ASEAN Member States.
In conclusion, the ASEAN- Partner’s Dialogue Exchange Farmers Visit represents a significant step towards strengthening agricultural cooperation, promoting sustainable practices, and enhancing food security in the ASEAN region. This joint communique reflects the shared commitment of Farmers in ASEAN member states and their partners to work together in achieving these common goals.
